Job Description

Eriksen Translations seeks a Production Coordinator to join our production team at our Brooklyn location. The selected candidate will be responsible for multiple tasks in the planning and execution of translation projects including the management of quality, cost, and schedules to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of Project Managers, plan, schedule and manage multiple project tasks from file prep stage to delivery, ensuring optimal workflow, established quality assurance procedures, and on-time/within budget results.
  • In addition to translation, assignments will be related to projects that include print and multi-media components (typesetting, subtitling, voiceover, and e-learning modules, among others).
  • Participate in kick-off meetings, assemble and coordinate teams of linguists, typesetters, technical support, and QA specialists.
  • Work with vendor manager to cultivate strong relationships with vendors, manage costs, and issue purchase orders.
  • Complete training in and oversee all aspects of translation management including TMs/glossary maintenance, use of CAT tools and multiple CMS platforms used by our clients.

Qualifications

  • College degree in linguistics, communication, business, technology, or related field.
  • Experience in translation project management, with multi-media experience a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with CAT tools (memoQ, Trados).
  • Excellent English oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Flexible, goal-oriented team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Embracing of cultural and multilingual diversity in the workplace and in the world.
  • Knowledge of one or more languages, in addition to English, preferred.
